The Services We Provide

Peer Leadership Alternatives for Youth (PLAY) is a comprehensive sexual health education program, currently implemented in the JUHSD high schools and the surrounding community. We are a team of health educators and teen peer health educators.

10 Day Sex-Ed Curriculum

Covers 92% of the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA) requirements

Topics include Birth Control/Condoms, STIs & HIV/AIDS, Gender and Sexuality, Healthy Relationships, and Consent & Sexual Assault, and more

Teen peer health educators facilitate the Condoms and Healthy Relationship lessons in freshmen health classes.

5 Day Refresher Curriculum

In response to student requests, a refresher curriculum was developed to remind Juniors and Seniors of critical sexual health information before they move on from High School.

Topics include Birth Control/Condoms, Sexual Safety, STIs, and Healthy Relationships

Sex-Ed Squad

Squad is a safe place for students to explore relevant topics such as sexual health, social justice, mental health, self-advocacy, and community building.

Squad members are trained to be peer health educators, present in classrooms, and share accurate information with their peers.

This after-school program is at all 5 JUHSD High Schools and meets weekly
